Julia Roberts' 80-year-old mother Betty Lou Motes died early Thursday at Santa Monica, Calif.'s St. John's Health Center, where she was fighting her battle with lung cancer.
Motes was living with the Pretty Woman star in Los Angeles in recent times, after her daughter (and Julia's half-sister) Nancy Motes commit suicide at 37 last Feb. 9 amid a rocky relationship with the A-lister.
Prior to Nancy's death, the Dying Young star had been pushing Betty Lou to change her last name from Motes to Roberts.
