More ‘Teen Mom 2!’ Producers Planning 6th Season Of MTV Reality Hit
Teen Mom 2 fans were thrilled to learn last spring that season 5 would be extended by 12 new episodes—and now, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal even more exciting news about the popular reality show.
Despite rumors that season 5 would be the last, “producers are getting ready for season 6,” an insider tells Radar. “They are calling the girls to make sure everyone is on board.”
Until just recently, the drama-filled cast— Jenelle Evans, Kailyn Lowry, Chelsea Houska and Leah Messer—believed the show could be ending after more than four years on the air.
“The show hadn’t been renewed, and no one was filming,” another source tells Radar. “It was stressful!”
With MTV’s current focus on the 2015 encore season of the original Teen Mom with cast members Amber Portwood, Maci Bookout and Catelynn Lowell, it seems likely that Teen Mom 2 season 6 will not air until at least late next year.
Despite the long hiatus, the network still appreciates their fabulous four.

“The producers know the show is a success, and it’s not going anywhere,” the insider insists.
And Evans, Lowry, Houska and Messer will finally have a much-deserved break from the cameras.
The source adds, “For now, the girls are excited to have some time off to just concentrate on their families.”
The Teen Mom 2 season 5B reunion finale with Dr. Drew Pinsky will air later this month.
