There’s big news from the Clinton camp today, and it has nothing to do with Hillary’s presidential run. Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton announced this afternoon that she and her husband, Marc Mezvinksy, are expecting their first child — just as RadarOnline.com exclusively reported two months ago!
“Mark and I are very excited that we have our first child arriving later this year,” Chelsea said during an appearance with her mother at Girls: A No Ceilings Conversation in New York City on Thursday. “I just hope that I will be as good a mom to my child, and hopefully children, as my mom was to me!”
Radar was first to spot Clinton’s growing bump back in February, when she looked noticeably curvier during New York Fashion Week events.
The announcement was a long time coming for would-be grandparents Hillary and Bill.
Chelsea previously said they “would tell you without blinking an eye that it would make them the happiest thing on earth if I were to make them grandparents.”
And Bill once admitted, “My goal is to live to be a grandfather.”
Chelsea also shared the announcement on her official Facebook page:
As Radar reported, now is the perfect time to make their baby dreams come true, because Chelsea has chosen not to renew her contract with NBC News in order to focus on her personal life.
“Chelsea chose not to renew her NBC News contract for several reasons,”a source previously told Radar. “She felt it opened her up to be questioned by the press about her parents and private life. She has always maintained a level of privacy, and being in the media spotlight diminishes that.”
In addition, a bouncing bundle of baby joy could be just the thing to distract from the many scandals that have plagued the Clintons in recent months, including Radar’s exclusive reports on claims by Tom Sizemore — later admitted as fabrications — that Bill had cheated on Hillary in the White House with actress Elizabeth Hurley.
