Simon Cowell: 'If I Was Gay, Why Wouldn't I Admit It?'

By Amber GoodhandRadar News Editor

Simon Cowell‘s sexuality has been questioned throughout his career, but in a new biography he clears it all up stating that he is not gay.

Known for being brutally honest as a judge on The X Factor and American Idol, the 52-year-old Brit says there’s no shame to being gay and he’d be equally as honest about it if he were.

“If I was gay, why wouldn’t I admit it? It wouldn’t harm me, and my mother wouldn’t freak out,” Simon told Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell author Tom Bower, UK tabloid The Sun reports.

Simon also told Tom that people who don’t believe him are “mad.”

Not one to kiss and tell, Simon has said he’s been embarrassed by many of the revelations revealed in the book — including that he secretly dated Australian pop star Dannii Minogue.
