The FBI let crooked Hillary off the hook! That's the bombshell claim of new reports that suggest the FBI granted immunity to key witnesses who lied to investigators about Clinton's email server.

FBI director James Comey famously said in July that while Clinton was "extremely careless" in mishandling private information through a private email server, she showed no criminal intent.

Now, Comey is yet again being grilled for actions taken by the FBI. The latest scandal involves Congress looking into an attempted whitewash by the Bureau.

According to reports, FBI officials had reached out to Platte River Networks, a Denver-based tech firm that processed Clinton's private server. The firm "destroyed subpoenaed emails from Clinton's server allegedly lied to FBI agents after he got an immunity deal," according to The New York Post.

Routinely, these actions would result in serious legal consequences, but at Comey's will, prosecutors struck a deal with Paul Combetta, the email specialist accused of deleting Clinton's emails.

Combetta then "falsely told agents in a Feb. 18 interview that he had no knowledge that emails he bleached from the server were under congressional orders to be preserved as evidence," The New York Post reported.

Then in a second interview in May, Combetta admitted he did know. Comey then let Combetta go free, reports claim.

"When I was at the Department of Justice, your word for lying to federal agents was an 18 USC 1001 charge or potential obstruction of justice charge. It wasn't immunity," Rep. John Ratcliffe said to Comey.

"It depends on where you're trying to go with the investigation," Comey said. "If it's a low level guy and you're trying to move up in the chain, you might think about it differently."

Ratcliffe said Combetta had dishonored the terms of the immunity agreement and should be stricken of his immunity deal.

But Comey claimed there was not enough evidence to make a case for obstruction and Combetta walked free.
