Amanda Bynes’ Mom WITHDRAWS Petition For Conservatorship

UPDATE: Amanda’s mom, Lynn, was recently granted an LPS conservatorship. “A mental health (LPS) conservatorship makes one adult (called the conservator) responsible for a mentally ill adult (called the conservatee). These conservatorships are only for adults with mental illnesses listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM),” according to a courthouse website.

There was no need to pursue the original conservatorship that Lynn had applied for as it would have just duplicated the LPS orders.

Amanda Bynes‘ mother Lynn formally withdrew her petition to obtain a conservatorship of her troubled daughter and the hearing that was scheduled to take place on Monday has been taken off the calendar, is exclusively reporting.

Lynn’s attorney, Tamar Arminak, “notified the court on Thursday morning that the petition was being withdrawn. There will be no hearing on Monday,” a source exclusively told Radar.

It’s unclear why Bynes’ mother has decided to no longer seek the conservatorship of her daughter.

Earlier this week the former Nickelodeon star’s criminal defense attorney, Richard Hutton, told the judge handling the starlet’s DUI that his client was mentally incompetent.

The troubled starlet has been under a temporary conservatorship obtained by her mother after starting a fire in a driveway near her parents’ house. The temporary conservatorship expires on September 30.

Bynes remains under psychiatric care at hospital in Southern California.
