Hundreds of people flocked to the Arlington Heights United Methodist Church on Tuesday to honor the memory of pianist Vadym Kholodenko’s young daughters, who were allegedly murdered by their mother last week in Benbrook, Texas.
While photographers were not allowed inside the emotional memorial service, somber patrons looking to pay their respects were spotted outside the church.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the Ukrainian pianist found his daughters dead last Tuesday, when he went to pick them up from the home they shared with their mother.
Sofya Tsygankova was charged with two counts of capital murder after cops discovered Nika, 5, and Michela, 1, dead inside the home.
Their cause of death is still undetermined as officials are waiting to hear back from the medical examiner’s office.
The 31-year-old mom was found with self-inflicted stab wounds, treated and is currently in custody. She has pleaded not guilty to their slaughter.
Just a little over a year ago, the award-winning musician could be seen playing with his kids in a video filmed at their Texas home.
“I just know it’s better for my daughters to be raised here,” he told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram in a heart-wrenching video interview from October 2014. “I have so many friends here, and people are so kind. I just want to stay here.”
