Ryan Edwards was caught on camera driving while high on drugs on the season finale of Teen Mom OG, but could the disturbing scene lead to driving under the influence charges? A Tennessee police officer exclusively revealed to RadarOnline.com if Maci Bookout's baby daddy could be arrested.
On the episode, Edwards is busted slurring his words and falling asleep while driving his wife Mackenzie Standifer to their wedding ceremony.
"Why are you swerving?" Standifer asked, as he slurred, "My eyes baby in the sunlight I can't keep them open."
She then punched his shoulder throughout the scene as he continued to nod off.
"Hey you know what would be the coolest?" he asked. "Bachelor and bachelorette parties. I just thought about it, but I can't rethink about it. We're going to be married, we're going to be married."
Standifer then turned the cameras off, but left their microphones on.
"Did you take Xanax again?" she asked. "You did!"
Officer Thompson from the Red Bank Police Department told RadarOnline.com that Edwards does not have to worry about being charged with the crime.
"An officer would have to pull him over," he told RadarOnline.com. "Based on video, you could not assume someone was under the influence. No officer would charge based on a video because there are other things taken into account."
He continued how officers would have to perform field tests, observe the party driving, check to see if the driver smells of alcohol and more factors.
"It would be hard for you to go to court and testify based off video," he explained. "In the movies you can act drunk, so that can be the case."
Edwards entered rehab after the scene was taped.
"A little over 30 days ago, I made the decision to check myself into a rehabilitation facility," he told MTV. "I am back home now doing well, and life could not be better. Without the support of my wife and parents I would not have been able to do this. Thank you all for your well wishes."
But MTV and his wife have come under fire for allowing him to drive while high.
"If someone was nodding off while driving with me next to them I'd be making them pull over immediately," a viewer tweeted, as another fan fired, "Why didn't @MTV tell @MacStandifer and @ryancedwards to pull over?"
