ABC To Announce 'Roseanne' Spinoff As Early As TOMORROW

Less than one week after ABC cancelled Roseanne after her racist scandal, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively execs will announce a series spinoff as early as tomorrow.
A production insider revealed the network is in "final negotiations" for a reboot that will center around Sara Gilbert, who plays Darlene — Roseanne's daughter — on the show.
On Monday evening the cast and crew were rushing to "finalize contracts so that they can get into production."
"It is almost certainly going to happen," the informant told RadarOnline.com exclusively.
RadarOnline.com was first to report news that execs planned to get rid of Barr’s character in her hit sitcom, and replace her with Gilbert.
“Sara Gilbert is in talks to get a spin-off called ‘Darlene’ and they will kill off Roseanne on the show!” an insider revealed to RadarOnline.com.
As RadarOnline.com has reported, the disgraced comedian’s former co-stars were busy discussing saving the show after Barr was fired for her racist comments on Twitter about former President Barack Obama‘s onetime aide, Valerie Jarrett.
After Roseanne Executive Producer Wanda Sykes announced she quit the show over the controversial situation, Gilbert, who also served as an executive producer on the revival, blasted Barr on Twitter.
Minutes later, the show was cancelled.
On Monday, Gilbert opened up about the sudden and shocking cancellation.
“This has been a very difficult week. A lot of people have been hurt by this,” Gilbert, who played Darlene on the ABC revival, said Monday June 4, on her show The Talk. “I will say I’m proud of the show we made. This show has always been about diversity, love and inclusion. And it’s sad to see it end in this way.”
