No Laughing Matter! ‘Subdued’ Roseanne Barr Struggles With Her Show
April 17 2018, Updated 10:11 a.m. ET
RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned Roseanne Barr is having a tough time on the set of the rebooted sitcom that bears her name.
“It’s not as easy as it was in the ‘90s even with her weight loss,” a source exclusively told RadarOnline.com of the 65-year-old actress, who has dropped a large amount of weight over the past few years. “The fast pace of shooting a weekly sitcom is killing her.”
Famous for her outspokenness , the show also seems to have silenced the controversial comedian in recent months.
“People are noticing a more subdued Roseanne, not the brash barker they remember,” noted the source, explaining, “One of the reasons is she’s catching a lot of colds and laryngitis from cackling so loud on the show.”
Despite the tough time, Barr is managing not to fight with all of her costars.
“On the plus side, Roseanne gets along John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf,” said the source.
However, as RadarOnline.com reported, Barr and Sara Gilbert, who plays the star’s daughter Darlene, aren’t exactly seeing eye-to-eye.
“The two have been going at it over creative differences, particularly when it comes to political dialogue that is in the script,” a source sad, referring to Barr’s on-air support of President Donald Trump.
Despite that dustup, the show’s writers have found themselves in Barr’s good graces.

“Back in the day, she’d fire writers every week, but so far no one’s getting the axe,” said the source. “She’s kinder, gentler — and way more tired than she’s letting on.”
