Roseanne Sobs Show Firing Was 'Like A Death' After Revealing Character's OD

Roseanne Barr broke down in tears at a live Yom Kippur event in Beverly Hills, Calif., last night, telling an audience of 200 that getting fired from her namesake show earlier this year was "like a death," RadarOnline.com can confirm.

"It physically defeated me, and I was just leveled," she said, according to the Los Angeles Times. "It was so depressing, like a death.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, The 65-year-old fallen star of hit sitcom Roseanne was fired in May by ABC over a racist tweet aimed at President Barack Obama's former aide Valerie Jarrett.'

On September 17, while many of her fellow actors celebrated achievements at the Emmys, Barr told the audience that it was more important "to get right with my maker than be forgiven."

"The joy is in knowing what you did wrong. It's the bravery and courage and self-reflection to get down to it and make it as right as you can."

And for the first time, Barr revealed her true thoughts on her former costars' upcoming spin-off, The Conners — insisting that she will not watch the show and, instead, will leave the U.S. for several months to study Judaism in Israel.

As RadarOnline.com reported yesterday, Barr shocked fans when she revealed her iconic character will die of a drug overdose on the new season.

"John Goodman said 'they're trying to crucify you,'" Barr said, referring to her longtime TV husband who is still in her corner.

"It was too perfect not to be coordinated. The whole thing is just so sad. It's all so sad. I'm just gonna keep on, having a great life."
