House Of Cards is set to resume shooting its sixth season come January after Kevin Spacey's shocking firing, and now RadarOnline.com has learned Robin Wright has become the queen bee on set since the network booted the sleazy star's main character from the hit Netflix series.
"With Kevin out of the picture, Robin is well and truly the boss figure on the HOC set – and she’s loving every minute!"
An insider says, “This was a moment she’d been craving for years, and now the set is happier as a result. She realizes she can carry House of Cards by herself, even though much of the show hinged on Kevin’s character."
Luckily for the actress, everyone has Robin’s back, including the director David Finche!
"It's helped to build her confidence," spills the informant, adding, "Robin’s already met with writers and contributed ideas for how the sixth season should progress."
"She’s emerging as a leader.”
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Netflix decided to keep their popular show running despite rumors of a cancellation on the heels of Spacey's sexual harassment scandal. However, the plot of the next season has been entirely changed, and Spacey's character on the series will likely suffer an off-screen death, and the storyline will be altered to focus on Robin Wright’s Claire Underwood.
In October, Spacey was bashed by actor Anthony Rapp, who alleged Spacey sexually assaulted him when he was just a teen.
Responding to the accusation, Spacey shared a bizarre apology, claiming he was likely drunk when the incident occurred, and informing fans that he, in fact, identified as gay. Celebrities were infuriated by his out-of-place response, as was Netflix, who fired him and suspended production for House Of Cards as soon as they heard of his alleged sick acts.
“Netflix will not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey,” Netflix shared in a statement at the time. “We will continue to work with producer Media Rights Capital during this hiatus time to evaluate our path forward as it relates to the show.”
After Rapp’s confession, various other men came forward to accuse Spacey of sexual harassment and misconduct. He is now receiving treatment for his sex addiction in the same rehab center as Harvey Weinstein.
