Nickelodeon Parts Ways With 'Drake & Josh' Creator Dan Schneider
Nickelodeon has cut ties with Drake & Josh, iCarly and Zoey 101 creator Dan Schneider, RadarOnline.com has learned.
"Following many conversations together about next directions and future opportunities, Nickelodeon and our long-time creative partner Dan Schneider/Schneider's Bakery have agreed to not extend the current deal," the producer and the network said in a joint statement, obtained by PEOPLE.
Schneider — whose company is called Schneider's Bakery — is responsible for creating and directing iCarly, Zoey 101, Drake & Josh, Victorious, Kenan & Kel, Sam & Cat and Henry Danger. The producer — who worked for Nickelodeon since 1993 — was also the showrunner for Amanda Bynes' The Amanda Show and later What I Like About You.
According to the joint statement, both Schneider and Nickelodeon are pursuing different projects and "agreed that this is a natural time" to part ways.
"Dan and his Schneider's Bakery team have created a string of lasting, groundbreaking hits over the years," continued the statement. "We thank Dan and his Schneider's Bakery producers, executives and social media team for their immeasurable contributions to Nickelodeon, and we wish them the best in their future endeavors."
For his part, Schneider assured his company is "proud of the work they did together with Nickelodeon and will always remain big fans of the network."

Dan Schneider's parting from the network comes after a years of suspicion regarding his odd treatment of young stars. According to a report, the producer often took photos with the pre-teen actors as well as tweeted pictures of the toes of his young female starlets. There were also issues with bloated budgets and long days on set, during filming for Schneider's hit shows. Nickelodeon did not comment on the rumors.
