Disgraced Matt Lauer Expects Hollywood Comeback After Sex Assault Scandal
Matt Lauer is telling friends he’s capable of bouncing back after his explosive sex assault scandal and TODAY Show firing, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
Sources reveal the disgraced host is planning on moving to Hollywood and becoming a movie producer! “Matt has been a real whiz with his money and sees a clear opportunity to leave broadcast news behind and develop his chops as a producer and film financier," dishes the informant. "He wants to start by funding documentaries."
Lauer, 60, is said to have gotten the idea from Katie Couric, who’s had success in the documentary world since leaving morning TV.
"After Matt got fired he started asking around about how he could actually pull this off," the insider reveals to Radar.
"People say he’s delusional, but Matt’s convinced it could win him back a lot of the credibility and trust he's lost from this scandal"
As readers know, Lauer was fired from TODAY in November after one woman gave troubling details of a sexual encounter she had with Lauer in his office.

Since then, several women have come out of the woodworks alleging sexual harassment against the shamed host.
Lauer has since issued an apology admitting to the accusations — though claims some of the allegations against him were “untrue or mischaracterized.”
“There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions,” the former NBC host said. “To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry.”
“Some of what is being said about me is untrue or mischaracterized, but there is enough truth in these stories to make me feel embarrassed and ashamed.”
