Leah Remini: Leaving Church Of Scientology Has Brought My Family ‘Closer Together’

Leah Remini's, appearing on Wednesday’s edition of Ellen, says leaving the Church of Scientology, and appearing in her new TLC reality show, has strengthened her family bond.

The King of Queens beauty, promoting the yet-to-be-titled show, said she thinks that since she’s defected from the controversial institution, she and her family are "learning new ways to … reconnect with each other.

"So, it really has brought us closer together … we’re stronger and we’re having so much fun together."

Remini, 44, said her new reality series "is something that her family loves to do” — even if it can be somewhat overwhelming, at times.

“Like, I don’t need 25 people in my house everyday,” the New York City native said, adding that her stepfather and mother love the reality format.

“And I think that's a beautiful thing."

Remini, who famously clashed with church leader David Miscavige prior to leaving separated from the celeb-laden church in July 2013.
