Kenya Moore Unleashes On NeNe Leakes' Return To 'RHOA': 'It's Awkward'
Kenya Moore may have visited NeNe Leakes on Broadway recently as RadarOnline.com reported, but the 44-year-old housewife was a bit thrown off when her former costar made a surprise visit to the set of Real Housewives of Atlanta while filming season 8.
"If I am being 100% honest, it was a bit awkward because no one knew she was coming back," Moore admitted during an interview with OKmagazine.com. "No one knew she was going to appear in Jamaica, and she just shows up at dinner, and it's like, 'Okay, well why are you here again?'"
Moore found the whole situation to be out of the normal.
"It was just very strange," she said. "Not being a hater, not saying I don't want her on the show — it was just very strange."
After filming the majority of the season, Moore didn't expect Leakes, 48, to return.
"We went almost the entire season without her and for her to just appear out of the blue, it was a bit awkward because no one knew she was coming," she explained. "So it just took a little adjustment.
After getting over the surprise factor, Moore had no problem with Leakes reconnecting with the cast.
"I think if it's something NeNe really wants and the other girls feel like she's a good addition back assimilating into the group, who am I to stop it?" she said.
This season, Moore has also seemed to be working through her past issues with Porsha Williams. But she sometimes questions Moore's feelings towards her.
"I always think that it's good and I turn around and I see a lot of bad press or comments, unnecessary negativity," Moore said. "So I'm just really not sure at this point about the status of our reconciliation. But my perspective is that I'm good with her. But I don't think that it's the same. I don't think it's mutual."
At the beginning of the season, Moore got into a fight with her costar Sheree Whitfield, 45. But now that she is on good terms with Whitfield, she thinks that Tammy McCall Browning was out of line during her Miami argument with Whitfield.
"Sheree is not someone you really want to mess with, and Tammy just has no idea when to shut her mouth," Moore noted. "And she is definitely coming for Sheree."
As for Kandi Burrus, 39, and Phaedra Parks, 44, working on their troubled friendship, Moore isn't sure about the status of their future.
"I just think that they are cordial with one another," she said. "I think the connection has been lost, but who's to say if it will ever be regained."
