John McCain is not letting his illness stop him from achieving his political duties, not matter what his daughter, Meghan McCain says or does.
In a new teaser for the new HBO documentary, John McCain: For Whom the Bell Tolls, premiering Monday night, the 33-year-old admits that she tried to stop her dad from going back to Washington D.C. after his brain surgery — but he refused!
"He said, 'I have to get back for the healthcare bill' and I said, 'What could possibly happen if he gets on a plane?' and the doctor said he would like hemorrhage and it can be dangerous if he still has air in his brain, and all this crazy stuff," Meghan recalls in the clip.
"So I freaked out and I screamed at everyone that he couldn't get on the plane and that I didn't agree with it," she continues. "And my dad snapped at me and said, 'It's my life and it's my choice."'
As RadarOnline.com readers know, John, 81, was diagnosed with brain cancer on July 2017, after undergoing a surgery to remove a blood clot behind his eye. He has since continued to receive treatment but has declined to back down from his role as Senator.
On July 28, John McCain touched down in Washington D.C. to vote against Trump's wish to repeal Obamacare.
"I think the Republicans felt that he had marshaled all of his physical strength to come back after the surgery and that naturally he would vote with the Republican party. But they totally misread John," Joe Lieberman, former Democratic senator and close friend to John McCain, says in the teaser. "He came back for a different reason. He came back to do the right thing and to send a message to his colleagues and to the country."
As RadarOnline.com readers know, White House staffer Kelly Sadler recently received much backlash after mocking John McCain during a closed-door meeting. At the time, she said the Republican Senator's votes no longer mattered because "he's dying anyway."
Against all odds, John McCain is staying positive, and living life to the fullest amid his heartbreaking health crisis.
