House of horrors parents David and Louise Turpin appeared in court on Friday as the faced multiple felony accounts after holding their children hostage for years and RadarOnline.com has exclusive details about their hearing.

“Neither of them were handcuffed or shackled at their wrists while court was in session,” Riverside County District Attorney’s Office Public Information Officer John Hall told RadarOnline.com.

“The tentative preliminary hearing date remains May 14, 2018 with an intervening felony settlement conference date set for May 4, 2018,” Hall said.

While in court, the Turpins reportedly attempted to speak to each other. They were separated and incarcerated since January 14, 2018 when they were arrested for the torture of their 13 children.

“A deputy just admonished the Turpins, who are sitting about three feet apart, not to talk with each other,” Brian Rokos with the Press-Enterprise Tweeted.

He noted: “It does not appear that they are shackled again, but you can’t see under the suits. Louise appears to have free movement of her arms.

The Turpins signed documents from the Riverside County Adult Protective Services but the judge was expected to keep the details confidential. The adult Turpin children were recently released from the hospital to a private home.

The Turpins were charged with 12 felony counts each of torture and false imprisonment, and nine counts of child abuse and seven counts of cruelty to a dependent adult. David was also charged with one count of lewd acts on a child under 14 and Louise was charged with assault resulting in great bodily injury.
