It took nearly three decades for Cailtyn Jenner to make the brave decision to transition into a woman – but not for lack of trying in the past. In a preview clip from the upcoming Makers Conference, the reality star, 66, revealed that her first attempt to change gender was way back in the 1980s.
"I started on hormones. But yeah, I was a good 36B, and I loved them," Jenner said during an interview from the event. "I thought, 'This is fabulous!' My mission at that point was to transition before I was 40. Got to 39, I just couldn't go any farther."
It was only months later that the former Olympian met future wife Kris, and her plans to leave Bruce behind were stalled.
"We hit it off from day one," Caitlyn said of her ex. "I was very honest with her — I had to be, I was a 36B! Everything was heading in the right direction. I made this decision to kind of move on in my life — Kris and I together, and this family. OK, I've got to get rid of these gender things and get off hormones and this and that."
"I actually had my boobs removed," she also confessed. "I never told anybody that."
Though Kris was aware of then-Bruce's secret identity, the couple developed a set of guidelines to keep their growing family stable.
"The rules with Kris and I: don't dress up, certainly around the house. If you really need to do that, when you're on the road, take stuff and do that. So I did that for years," Caitlyn said.
Kris has not commented on Caitlyn's interview.
