Anthony Cumia Stands By Cohost Artie Lange Through Addiction Struggle: 'We Look Forward To His Return'
Artie Lange's substance abuse issues landed him in jail and now rehab, but his podcast coworkers hope he will return to set soon.
In an exclusive statement to RadarOnline.com, Anthony Cumia and Keith Maresca, the executive producer of The Artie and Anthony Show, claim they're standing by their troubled friend through his struggles.
"This country is in a horrible epidemic that has claimed too many lives. This addiction knows no bounds," they told RadarOnline.com.
"Artie is one of the most talented and quick witted comedians we have had the pleasure of working with. On top of that, he has one of the biggest hearts of any person we've ever met. He would truly give you the shirt off his back."
"Anthony, the Compound Media staff and all of our subscribers look forward to his return. Until then his friends will fill in in his stead. Supporting Artie through this tough time is our #1 priority. "

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, a day prior to his arrest, Lange, 50, was put on medical leave from the show following his multiple absences.
The comedian left for rehab in Florida after his court hearing on Friday. He is expected back in court on February 23 for sentencing related to his heroin and cocaine possession charges last winter.
Lange's lawyer, Frank Arleo, confirmed to RadarOnline.com the beloved star's friends and family were doing everything they could "to save Artie's life."
"Sentencing will be held in abeyance while Artie gets the inpatient treatment he so desperately needs,' Arleo revealed. "Please keep Artie in your prayers."
