Amanda Bynes is finally opening up about her downward spiral from fame, beginning with a shocking confession about abusing hard drugs including ecstasy and cocaine, RadarOnline.com can report.
Bynes, 32, opened up about her crazy past of drug abuse in a no-holds barred interview with Paper Magazine. The troubled actress revealed she began smoking marijuana at the age of 16.
“Even though everyone thought I was the ‘good girl,’ I did smoke marijuana from that point on,” Bynes told the mag. “I didn’t get addicted then and I wasn’t abusing it. And I wasn’t going out and partying or making a fool of myself…yet.”
The ex-Nickoledon star said her drugs of choice later progressed to “molly and ecstasy” – and made it clear which substances she preferred over others.
“I tried cocaine three times but I never got high from cocaine. I never liked it. It was never my drug of choice,” she continued.
Bynes – whose conservatorship was just extended for two more years – said she also grew an extreme addiction to Adderall.
“I definitely abused Adderall,” the star told the magazine, calling it “the new skinny pill” at the time.
“When I was doing Hall Pass, I remember being in the trailer and I used to chew the Adderall tablets because I thought they made me more high that way,” Bynes admitted. “I remember chewing on a bunch of them and literally being scatterbrained and not able to focus on my lines or memorize them for that matter.”
Bynes’ substance abuse got to the point where she “literally tripping out” while looking at herself on-camera, the former actress confessed.
“I remember rushing off set and thinking, Oh my god, I look so bad,” she recalled to Paper.
As RadarOnline.com readers know, Bynes is under her mother’s legal control until at least 2020.
In 2013, the former actress entered a rehab center in Malibu, Calif., where she had been treated for schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder.
The She’s The Man star was diagnosed with the conditions after setting a fire in the driveway of a neighbor in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
In the eye-opening interview, Bynes said she plans on making a comeback in the acting industry. She is currently a student at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.
Despite the art degree, Bynes insisted that she wants to get back into acting “first.”
