While the Shock Jock has yet to make a statement on Evil Dave's death, his former Stern Show sidekick, Artie Lange, took to Twitter Sunday night upon hearing the news to share his experiences with the late Wack Packer.
"He just happened to be from basically the same area in the Midwest Letterman is from. Same accent. So with a slight adjustment he sounded exactly like DL," said Lange. "Eerie how on the money it was. & as retarded as he was he mastered subtle pauses inflections & comedic timing DL was known for."
"We'd all write lines for him. Me not many. But Freddie and Benjy worked hard on them. They were genius," continued Lange. "But he'd mis pronounce tons of stuff. Or add his own jokes. Drove us crazy. But part of his genius was making the mistakes hilarious too. So EDL was what comedy calls GOLD..."
Evil Dave was 63-years-old.
