Phelps, 31, was first arrested for DUI in 2004 when he was just 19 years old. He was pulled over for blowing a stop sign, and blew .08 on a breathalyzer test. He was sentenced to 18 months probation, and had to pay $55 in court fees and $250 in fines. His probation included giving speeches about the dangers of alcohol to students and abstinence from alcohol and illegal drugs.

Then in 2009, photos of the Olympic athlete smoking marijuana the year prior surfaced. Phelps reportedly tried to buy the pictures before they were leaked, but was unsuccessful and was suspended from swimming for three months. He also lost one his major sponsorships with Kellogg.

Phelps avoided jail time for a second DUI arrest in 2014. Instead, his license was suspended for 90 days and he was ordered to 18-months probation.

He later checked into a rehab facility for treatment, and revealed to Matt Lauer that he "didn't want to see another day" at one point during his downward spiral.
Phelps has also dealt with plenty of demons in the bedroom — including intersex model Taylor Lianne Chandler. The two met on Tinder and had sex at his Baltimore home. They also engaged in steamy text message sessions, which RadarOnline.com exclusively obtained.
