Humphrey Bogart: “I should never have switched from scotch to martinis.”
John Wayne: “Of course I know who you are. You’re my girl. I love you.” This to his wife.
Marilyn Monroe: “Say goodbye to Pat, say goodbye to Jack and say goodbye to yourself, because you’re a nice guy.” The blonde bombshell allegedly said this in a phone call to actor Peter Lawford.
Ava Gardner: “I’m so tired.”
Errol Flynn: “I’ve had a hell of a lot of fun and enjoyed every minute of it.” This was uttered just minutes before he suffered a fatal heart attack in 1959.
Joe DiMaggio: “I finally get to see Marilyn.” He died in 1999 of cancer, still missing ex-wife Marilyn Monroe, who’d died in ’62.
Joan Crawford: “Damn it! Don’t you dare ask God to help me!” She yelled this at a housekeeper who was praying out loud.
Elvis Presley: “I’m going to the bathroom to read.” The King said this to girlfriend Ginger Alden.
Cary Grant: “I love you, Barbara. Don’t worry.” This was to his wife.
Bob Hope: “Surprise me.” The star said this to his wife, Dolores, after she asked him where he wanted to be buried.
Rock Hudson: “No, I don’t think so.” When asked if he wanted coffee.
Douglas Fairbanks Sr.: “I’ve never felt better.”
Frank Sinatra: “I’m losing it.”
Michael Landon: “You’re right. It’s time. I love you all.” This was after his family gathered around his bed, and his son said it was time to move on.
Groucho Marx: “This is no way to live!”
Whitney Houston: “I’m gonna go see Jesus, want to see Jesus.”
James Dean: “That guy’s gotta stop ... He’ll see us.” Said to his friend, moments before the car crash that killed Dean.
