Derick Dillard insisted he wasn't fired from Counting On because of his controversial behavior. Jill Duggar's husband revealed he left the series on his own after slamming TLC counterpart Jazz Jennings for being transgender. RadarOnline.com has exclusive details on his shocking confession.
"This is how I first heard that I was 'fired," Dillard responded to a report. "For the record, I was never fired. I just felt it best for my family to cut ties months ago, as we are heading in a different direction."
TLC released a statement in November that they had cut ties with Dillard after he made transphobic comments towards the I Am Jazz star.
A 'reality' show which follows a non-reality," he tweeted in August. "'Transgender' is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it's ordained by God." He then attacked Jennings, 17, again in November by tweeting, "I pity Jazz, 4 those who take advantage of him in order 2 promote their agenda, including the parents who allow these kinds of decisions 2 be made by a child."
So did Dillard quit the series or was he fired? "They had planned to move on for quite a while," a source close to Dillard and Duggar told RadarOnline.com.
The tweet comes amid RadarOnline.com revealing exclusive photos of Jennings swapping money for what appears to be an herb-like substance.
Jennings was caught on camera riding her bike to Poinciana Park in Coral Springs, Florida on December 6. A man, whose identity has been protected pending comment, parked his car in the park's lot. "She parked her bike next to his car," an onlooker exclusively told RadarOnline.com. "He was leaning on the front of his car and she walked over to where he was. As she reached into her purse, you could see his open palm containing a substance of some sort."
As she gave the mysterious man a handshake, he "dropped the bag into her purse while taking the money out of her hand." The eyewitness explained how the entire exchange took only 10 seconds.
