A lifeguard at the closest public beach to Brangie's property, El Capitan State Beach, told RadarOnline.com, "The area was hit pretty bad and it's still being affected by the smoke. Brad and Angelina's place was in the path of a fire four weeks ago but it was stopped just before some campsites. The campsites are still closed."

"Smoke from fires in the nearby Los Padres National Forest is still mixing with the marine layer and hanging over the area pretty much all day," the lifeguard explained. "It's a really unusual situation. It really is like something out of Game of Thrones. There's hardly anyone on the beaches here because of it."

As the drought continued, the community was on high alert for more destruction. "It's definitely a warning that these fires are still a threat and could flare up again at any time," said one source.

The lifeguard told RadarOnline.com that every precaution was being taken to protect the area: "Fire marshals are patrolling the area regularly to monitor any new outbreaks."

Brangie's neighbors are pitching in, as well as tourists. "Visitors are also being urged to report any new fires or smoke as soon as they see it," the lifeguard said.
