Wiz Khalifa Sued By Ex-Assistant For $70k, Accused Of Refusing To Pay Him Back For Groceries
Wiz Khalifa is fighting his former longtime employee in court over accusations he refused to pay him back for groceries.
According to court documents obtained by Radar, the rapper’s former assistant Jason Gonzalez is suing over alleged unpaid wages.
He claims to have been screwed out of overtime, was not provided proper meal breaks and was not reimbursement for expenses during his time working for Wiz.
In the suit, Gonzalez describes himself as a housekeeper and errand-runner for Wiz. He worked for him from February 2017 to January 29, 2019.
His duties included running errands, picking up prescriptions, dry cleaning and other necessities and luxuries on demand. He claims Wiz had him pay for all the groceries and other items out of pocket. Gonzalez says Wiz promised to reimburse him for the items and the mileage he put on his car at a later date.
In December 2018, the former employee says he demanded Wiz cough up the $9,151 he spent on out-of-pocket expenses and $1,765.15 for mileage.
Gonzalez claims the following month he was wrongfully terminated in retaliation for his demands. After being fired, he reviewed his paystubs and claims to have discovered he was stiffed on overtime to the tune of $1,672.

He is seeking $25k for the unpaid overtime plus $25k for the missed meal breaks. The suit also is demanding Wiz cough up the $10k owed for reimbursements for a grand total of $70k.
Recently, Wiz finally responded to the lawsuit denying all allegations of wrongdoing. He said Gonzalez was properly paid and actually was overpaid for his work.
The rapper argues the former employee was reimbursed for all “legitimate expenses.” Wiz is demanding the entire lawsuit be tossed out of court.
The case is still pending in Los Angeles Superior Court. No trial date has been set.
