Trump Clashes With Pete Hegseth Over Iran War Weapons 'Shortage' – As Prez Backs Off Launching 'Biggest Attack Since World War II'

President Trump is said to have confronted Pete Hegseth at Camp David, demanding why he had not been given the full story on the munitions shortages amid the conflict in Iran, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

According to the Washington Post, Trump went off on his Secretary of Defense, apparently raging that he thought the reported shortage issue "had been fixed."

The 80-year-old has recently held off on launching further attacks on Iran, as the shortages have mainly impacted long-range guided missiles and air-defense interceptors, insiders claimed.

While addressing supporters in Las Vegas on Wednesday, August 6, Trump claimed he was prepared to launch a massive attack on his opponent, before backing off; however, it was not due to a weapons shortage.

"I do not want to kill people, but at some point we're going to... we were set for the biggest attack of any attack, and we've hit them very hard for the last few months, but we were, we were all set for the biggest attack since World War II, and they called me and they said, 'Please don't do it. Let's talk.' And then they don't; they said, 'We never said that,'" Trump claimed.

The following day, Trump doubled down on the shortage claims and raged on Truth Social, "The U.S. has massive amounts of 'munitions,' especially of certain types."

Trump added, "Additionally, large amounts are being manufactured and shipped to the U.S. as needed. Defense companies are building the largest number of plants and factories in our country's history. The 'leakers' of these treasonous statements are being hunted down. Long-term jail sentences will be sought!"

The Washington Post reported Hegseth shifted the blame to his deputy, Stephen Feinberg, when he was confronted by his boss. Insiders claim Hegseth also blamed Feinberg for not letting Trump know details of the issue at hand.

According to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, the exchange never occurred, as "Trump has the utmost confidence in Secretary Hegseth."

Meanwhile, Hegseth has asked for $1.5trillion in military funding, which includes billions to build missiles. The proposal, however, has yet to progress as Democrats have rejected the increase, leaving the Pentagon in crisis mode over its weapons replenishment.

The former Fox News personality appears to be trying to keep the president in the dark about the Iran war out of fear of being fired, according to previous insiders.

"Hegseth is afraid of Trump and won't be as honest as he should about the war for fear of losing his job," a GOP member on the House Armed Services Committee claimed to the Daily Mail.

The tipster claimed, "[Trump] is surrounded by a bunch of fearful yes men who can't tell POTUS the truth. I see very few ways to wrap up Iran other than to withdraw and somehow market that as a 'win.'"

Despite the reported munitions depletion and heated exchange with Trump, Pentagon chief spokesman Sean Parnell revealed Hegseth's job is safe.

“Secretary Hegseth isn't going anywhere, and he’s going to continue to work side by side with Deputy Secretary Feinberg to execute President Trump’s agenda," he explained.

The 46-year-old's critics, however, have called for his termination, especially after he was accused of altering the Iran war death toll. The department's death tally stood at 18 dead on July 22, but it had been dropped to 14 the following day.

At the time of this publication, the number of casualties remained at 14, after acting press secretary for the Pentagon, Joel Valdez, claimed the change was due to "temporary data disruptions."

"Fire the incompetent secretary," one person on X responded, as another added, "Hegseth has to go!"
