Travis Scott Hit With 8 Lawsuits Over Astroworld Tragedy, Fans Seek Millions In Damages
Travis Scott is being slapped left and right with legal papers as fans are blaming him for the injures they suffered at Astroworld, with many more lawsuits expected to be filed this week.
According to court documents obtained by Radar, the 30-year-old rapper, Live Nation, and the organizers of Astroworld have been hit with a total of 8 lawsuits.
Over the weekend, Scott held his annual music festival in Houston but the event turned tragic. 8 people died after a stampede took place. Kylie Jenner’s boyfriend is accused of refusing to listen to security concerns before the show.
The first was filed by a woman named Kristian Paredes who sued Scott along with Drake after becoming “severely injured” in the crowd. She accuses the defendants of helping to incite the crowd.
“The crowd became chaotic and a stampede began leaving eight dead and dozens including Kristian Paredes severely injured,” the suit reads.
“Many begged security guards hired by Live Nation Entertainment for help, but were ignored,” her complaint added.
The second case was filed by Marielena Chavez who accuses Scott of having “inadequate security” long with no “plan to protect attendees at the festival.” She accuses the rapper and defendants of being negligent in their actions.
A third suit was filed by a man named Wasem Abulawai and a fourth by a man named Patrick Polier. The suits laid out the same case against Scott and Live Nation.

The fifth case was brought by a man named Dante Deberardino. He is seeking $1 million in damages for his physical injuries. A man named Manuel Souza brought the sixth lawsuit over the “preventable” tragedy.
The last two cases were filed by a man named Coritius Broussard and a woman named Tobenna Okezie.
Okezie is also seeking $1 million in damages after being injured at Astroworld. “As a result of inadequate security and a security plan to protect attendees at the festival, conditions were created and consented to by the festival organizers that caused several stampedes and a crowd compression that resulted in the tragic death of eight individual and the serious injuries of hundreds more.”
“I’m absolutely devastated ted by what took place last night. My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival,” Scott said in a statement following the incident.
The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
