Taylor Swift seems to be up to something – or so her fans think.

A fan-made bot that tracks Swift's store merchandise detected 250,000 vinyl records restocked, RadarOnline.com has learned. The bot couldn't pinpoint what those records were, but fans put together several clues that could indicate the 36-year-old pop star is planning something big to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her debut album.

"Looks like we're up to 250,000 vinyls estimated to hit the warehouse… what's going on in there," wrote Taylor Swift Store Updates, an unofficial account not affiliated with her team. Observing the vinyl records might include multiple LPs, they added, "quite interesting as some of these weights are the highest we’ve ever seen."

Fans began using automated bots to track Swift's store and its restocks to help beat scalpers or other fans from surprise drops. While the accuracy of their estimates is unofficial, it's nothing new for Swifties to keep close tabs on the warehouse moves.

"Something fishy," speculated TS Merch Archive, another unofficial account, as one fan begged, "Hopefully for debut’s 20th anniversary she’s releasing (Taylor's Version.)"

Another said, "No shade but the only thing this will be possibly is debut is (Taylor's Version), and that’s it."

Immediately, internet sleuths began looking for more signs that Swift was plotting something for her album Taylor Swift, which turns 20 years old on October 24, 2026.

Fans noticed Target is already gearing up for the anniversary, even if they don't directly mention a new version of Swift's album. The website was updated with a special section for "Taylor Swift 20: Vinyl & CD Collection." The merchandise selection includes some of her old work, including Taylor's Versions of the albums.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that the Google listing for the 20th anniversary section on the site mentions "$24.99 [20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition]." However, the brief SEO-optimized overview text does not appear on the actual website itself yet.

Notably, Swift has kept a close partnership with Target throughout her career. Typically, upon the release of a new album, Target releases an alternative version. For years, Swift even went in person to Target to purchase her own album on release day, though her unparalleled fame has made that difficult in recent release cycles.

Swift previously confirmed she rerecorded her entire debut album, but it went unreleased.

The Opalite singer decided to rerecord her first six albums after being unable to reclaim the masters to those songs.

She released fresh versions of Fearless, Speak Now, Red, and 1989, tagging "Taylor's Version" onto the end. However, before she could release the new Taylor Swift and Reputation albums, she managed to purchase back her masters.

The singer teased the release of the final two albums.

According to Swift, she hasn't "re-recorded a quarter of it." In a letter to her fans, though, she confirmed her debut album was ready to go.

"I've already completely re-recorded my entire debut album, and I really love how it sounds now," she confessed on May 30, 2025. She didn't lay out an exact plan for its release, but did promise fans would get a glimpse of both albums one day.

Reputation, though, might be limited as she "kept hitting a stopping point" in her creative process.
