Sean Penn is moving to keep his divorce battle secret — deciding to try and hash out a settlement with his estranged wife behind closed doors instead of out in the public.
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the 61-year-old actor and 29-year-old Leila George have informed the court they hired private judge Scott Gordon to help them negotiate a deal.
The two will now fight in meditation instead of going back and forth in front of the public. Gordon is famous in Hollywood circles and was recently hired by Kelly Clarkson as she fights her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock over kicking him out of her Montana ranch.

The filing states Gordon will hear “all matters until the final determination of the case.”
Prior to his retiring as a judge in the Los Angeles Superior Court, Gordon presided over Mel Gibson and Britney Spears’ custody battles with their exes Oksana Grigorieva and Kevin Federline.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, back in October, George filed for divorce from the actor following one year of marriage. They had been dating since 2016 and share no children.
The couple got hitched in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic at their home. George is the daughter of Daredevil star Vincent D’Onofrio.
In the docs, George asked the court to terminate the right to spousal support for either party. She listed the date of separation as September 28, 2021. All signs point to the two having had signed a prenuptial agreement before walking down the aisle.
Penn and George seem to still be on good terms and were spotted partying out with Leo DiCaprio in Miami after the divorce petition was filed.
Penn has been previously married twice. He was married to Madonna from 1985 to 1989 and then actress Robin Wright from 1996 to 2010.
