Sean Penn seems to be in denial about his divorce. The 61-year-old actor looked stressed while taking a smoke break, marking his first outing since his wife of one year, Leila George, decided to pull the plug on their marriage.
Here's the kicker — he was also still wearing his wedding ring.
The Oscar winner was photographed having a tense moment with an unidentified man outside Ollo in Malibu on Tuesday.
Wearing a navy blue shirt and matching bomber jacket, Penn kept it casual in jeans for an overpriced lunch at the ritzy California-inspired bistro.
Stepping outside to light up a cigarette, the Mystic River actor seemed locked in what looked like a heated talk with a man wearing business attire and carrying a briefcase.
Taking breaks in between puffs, it wasn't long until Penn noticed the paparazzi snapping away. He and the man quickly made their exit but not before shutterbugs caught a glimpse of the silver band on his hand that he continues to wear even after Leila filed for divorce.
It's an interesting move considering Penn reportedly ditched his wedding ring last week, days before his third wife officially called it quits.

As RadarOnline.com reported, the Australian actress filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday after just one year of marriage.

Leila wasn't shy about being in the spotlight. After all, her father is Emmy-nominated actor Vincent D'Onofrio.
The I Am Sam star and Leila married in July 2020, meaning their marriage only lasted 15 months. Penn and his third bride tied the knot in an intimate wedding at their home during the Covid-19 pandemic.
It's unclear why Leila decided to divorce Penn. Just two months ago, they were spotted showing each other affection and holding hands.
This marks Penn's third divorce. His other wives include Robin Wright from 1996-2010 and Madonna from 1985-1989.
While he shares no children with Leila, Penn and Wright have two kids together — daughter, Dylan, 30, and son, Hopper, 28.
