Nipsey Hussle’s brother Blacc Sam aka Sam Asghedomhas been given until October to wrap up the late rapper’s probate case.
According to court documents obtained by Radar, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge has granted a motion brought by Sam asking for additional time to handle outstanding issues.
Sam was put in place as the administrator of Nipsey's estate following his death. He is in charge of handling the finances and making sure his children are taken care of.
A hearing went down on January 12 where the judge heard from Sam’s lawyers. Lauren London’s attorney was present in the court too.
Sam had submitted a petition explaining the estate was not ready to be closed. He revealed all creditors had been taken care of except for one.
The last person demanding a cut from the estate is a songwriter named Tasleema Yasin.
In court docs, Yasin claims to be owed a cut of the profits from Nipsey’s song, Hussle & Motivation. She allegedly co-wrote the track with the rapper in 2016.
Tasleema says she performed the “ascending four-note vocal phrase featured throughout the song’s runtime, as well as a countermelody in my higher register featured prominently during the song’s chorus.
Sam rejected the claim and has asked the court to dismiss it.
The other claims handled include one filed by Paramount Recording Group in the amount of $131k, a $46k debt to American Express and all federal/state taxes have been paid.
In court, Sam also revealed the estate is worth an estimated $4 million which includes real property and annual gross income.
“The assets of Ermias’ Probate estate are approximately $4,062,439.34 ($4,169,088.57 per inventory and appraisal, less $106,649.23 in creditor’s claims),” the filing reads. His children are expected to receive around $2 million each,” the filing read.
Nipsey was shot and killed on March 31, 2019. He left behind a daughter named Emani and a son named Kross, who he shared with Lauren London.
Sam and his relatives were able to obtain custody of Emani after taking her mother Tanisha Foster back to court.
In the court order from this month’s hearing, it notes that not only were Lauren’s lawyer present by Tanisha’s attorney was in court.
