Kaley Cuoco & Karl Cook Divorce Documents Reveal They Worked Out A Deal Before Heading To Court
Kaley Cuoco and her soon-to-be ex-husband Karl Cook agreed on a public relations strategy before heading to court.
According to court records obtained by RadarOnline.com, the actress filed for divorce from Karl on September 3 in Los Angeles Superior Court.
However, the court also shows Karl filing his response to the divorce on the same day. The only lawyer listed for both parties is Chloe Wolman who works at the boutique firm Davies Wegner Law.
Karl does not have a lawyer associated with him in the divorce. The estranged couple filing on the same day only means one thing ... they sat down and planned out the split before going to court.
In a normal divorce, the petitioner would file and the respondent would show up a couple of weeks or even months later. Hours before the divorce was filed the two released a joint statement announcing the split.
"Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realized that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions," it read.
"We have both shared so much of our journey publicly so while we would prefer to keep this aspect of our personal life private, we wanted to be forthcoming in our truth together. There is no anger or animosity, quite the contrary," the statement added.
A source told People the breakup shocked Kaley's closest friends. One source said, "In the beginning of the summer, Kaley seemed very happy with Karl. They were affectionate and seemed great. The split seems very sudden. It's pretty shocking."
Back in June, Kaley and Karl made everything seem perfect on their 3-year anniversary. The actress wrote on social media, “2 years to the day before we got married and now 3 years married! Why have you stayed married to me for so long?! I'm sincerely impressed @mrtankcook lol I love you oh so much you have no idea…happy anniversary!!!"
All signs point to the couple wrapping up the divorce within months. As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Kaley has been causing romance speculation with her Meet Cute costar Pete Davidson as the two have been seen getting close on set.
