Actress Jurnee Smollett is officially back on the market after reaching a settlement with her ex-Josiah Bell.
According to court records obtained by RadarOnline.com, the Lovecraft County star recently submitted a judgment package as part of her divorce.
The filing means Jurnee and Josiah have privately worked out a deal that resolves all the issues regarding the division of their marital assets.
The terms of the deal have yet to be released. The former couple submitting the paperwork means the divorce is one step closer to being officially over.
Back in April 2020, Jurnee filed for divorce from Josiah after 10 years of marriage. They got married in October 2010. They share a 3-year-old Hunter. The couple have not posted about each other since October 2019.
Josiah filed his response to the divorce in May 2020, but the case had no movement for months. Last month, the court warned the couple if they didn’t file the proper paperwork.
The judge said, “Your case is not complete. Your case is not complete until the judgment has been filed and entered. If you fail to take the appropriate steps in your case, the Court may dismiss your case for delay in prosecution.”
During a Hollywood Reporter interview prior to her divorce, Jurnee raved about Josiah.
She said, “We were best friends before we started even dating, so we had this really great foundation. I think one of the challenging things about any lasting relationship is that you have to be so vulnerable.”
Jurnee filed the divorce papers days after her brother Jussie reappeared on social media. He had been on a hiatus ever since being arrested in 2019 for allegedly faking a hate crime.
The actress, along with her siblings, have stood by Jussie and maintained he is innocent. She said the ordeal has been “fu-king painful."
“One of the most painful things my family’s ever experienced. To love someone as much as we love my brother, and to watch someone who you love that much go through something like this, that is so public, has been devastating,” she said.
