Jimmy Kimmel's wife has revealed that their children are growing up with the "weird" reality of knowing the President of the United States openly despises their famous father, RadarOnline.com can reveal.
Donald Trump has long been locked in a bitter war of words with the late-night host over Kimmel's relentless monologue barbs, and the president's fury hasn't gone unnoticed by the two young kids the comedian shares with his wife and Jimmy Kimmel Live! co-head writer Molly McNearney.

Molly McNearney said it's 'not a great feeling' that her kids are aware the president 'doesn't like their father.'
The couple shared the odd experience their 12-year-old daughter, Jane, and 9-year-old son, Billy, go through because of Trump and Kimmel's feud during a Monday, August 24 appearance on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast.
"I said to Jim the other day, I'm like, 'This is what a wild childhood is for these kids to know that the president of the United States doesn't like their father.' I mean, that's not a great feeling," McNearney, 48, told Shepard, 51.
However, the Jimmy Kimmel Live executive producer added, "But it's also kind of funny."
Jimmy Kimmel and Molly McNearney Had to Explain Dad's Suspension to Kids
The Kimmels had to explain to their kids the media frenzy surrounding their dad's suspension from ABC.
The couple discussed how their children became deeply aware that their 58-year-old father was suspended indefinitely by Disney and ABC over backlash related to a comment in Kimmel's monologue following conservative activist Charlie Kirk's assassination in September 2025.
Kimmel was off the air for six days before his show finally returned, but Trump hammered him during that period for having "a lack of talent" and claimed the host's "firing" was "Great News for America."
"We said we had to explain what was going on because there were helicopters and noise outside her house, and also, they were still in school, and this was becoming a very huge story," McNearney explained about how Jane and Billy were unable to escape the media attention surrounding their dad's suspension drama.
Kimmel revealed that a local Los Angeles news station crew was "crouching in the bushes" of the family's Hollywood Hills home, "which really p------ me off."

Kimmel and McNearney have taken their children to several anti-Trump protests.
With Jane being on the edge of her teenage years, she was more aware than her younger brother that Trump had something to do with the drama involving her father.
"We didn't know how big it would be, and we didn't know if the kids were going to hear about it at school. So, we said the show has been canceled for a little bit," McNearney revealed about how the couple explained the situation to their children.
"And Jane said, 'Is this Donald Trump's fault?' And we said, 'Yes,'" she noted.
Shepard pointed out, "When you're evaluating all the weird ways our kids are growing up, like that's incredibly bizarre," to which McNeanrey agreed, "It really is," about the president having a well-known public beef with her kids' dad.

Trump praised ABC for 'firing' Kimmel then fumed when he was reinstated after a six-day suspension.
After Disney announced Kimmel's suspension on September 17, 20215, Trump took to Truth Social to celebrate.
"Great News for America: The ratings-challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED," he wrote, even though the company had not actually axed the late-night show
"Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible," Trump continued, referring to how CBS canceled Stephen Colbert's The Late Show due to financial reasons
After Kimmel was reinstated, the president fumed in another post, "I can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back. The White House was told by ABC that his Show was canceled! Something happened between then and now because his audience is GONE, and his ‘talent’ was never there."
