Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne's husband is set to have property left inside his abandoned law firm offices sold off to the highest bidders.
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the trustee presiding over Thomas Girardi's involuntary Chapter 7 recently hired an auction company named ThreeSixty assets to help put together the sale.
The trustee says the once-respected lawyer left behind a bunch of office equipment, furnishings, and decorations. The vacate buildings include a bunch of pricey memorabilia, a 100+ bottle wine collection, bronzed statues, a vintage piano, and a Cadillac scooter.
In a notable case against Pacific Gas & Electric, the utility company agreed to pay $460 million to 650 residents of the desert community of Hinkley, California.[3] The residents blamed incidents of cancer and other diseases on contaminated water leaked from a gas pumping station
Girardi became one of the most well-known lawyers for his role in the case which involved Erin Brockovich. The two took on Pacific Gas & Electric and won a $460 million settlement for the residents of Hinkley, California who experienced health problems from contaminated water leaking from a gas pumping station controlled by PG&E.
The case eventually was turned into the hit 2000 film Erin Brockovich starring Julia Roberts. Girardi's involvement helped bring in a ton of new clients for the once-respected lawyer. This would be years before his former clients started accusing him of stealing their settlement money and using it to help pay for Jayne's lavish lifestyle.
On the proposed auction site, the auction company included a bunch of photos of the property set to be sold off. One interesting item is a signed movie posted featuring Julia as Erin.
Other items featured in the lot include a signed Beach Boys posted and a ton of sports collectibles.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the trustee hopes the money made from the auction will help pay off the tens of millions Girardi owes to his creditors. He is also selling off the $9 million mansion Girardi is currently living in and suing Jayne for the return of $25 million.
So far, Jayne has refused to return any money claiming everything in her possession was "gifts" from her ex. The two are still in the middle of a nasty divorce. The Bravo star filed for divorce after 21 years of marriage as her husband's money troubles started and his health started declining.
Girardi's creditors accuse Jayne of helping her husband embezzle money meant for orphans and widows. She has yet to respond to the lawsuit in court.
