Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne’s credit card expenses are set to be examined as part of the fraud investigation connected to her estranged husband Tom Girardi’s bankruptcy.
According to court documents obtained by Radar, the trustee presiding over the bankruptcy for Girardi’s law firm is seeking records from American Express.
Earlier this year, the once-respected lawyer and his firm were forced into Chapter 7. Financial records show his company owes $101 million to various creditors.
Girardi is accused of running his law firm like a Ponzi scheme. In court docs, his former clients accuse him of screwing them out of millions owed.
As part of the bankruptcy, Jayne was sued by the trustee for $25 million. They are demanding she pay back the money Girardi’s firm used to pay the bills for her company EJ Global.
The Bravo star denies having knowledge of her husband’s alleged misdeeds.
In the newly filed motion, the trustee is asking the court for permission on obtaining the records from American Express.

The motion says Girardi’s law firm records were poorly maintained and incomplete. “The trustee’s review did reveal, however, substantial payments made by the Debtor to American Express,” the docs read.
Girardi’s firm issues cards to various employees and Jayne. The records show Jayne had two cards in her name.
“While the Debtor’s bank statements contain general line item entries relating to the payments, no additional information was found in the Debtor’s records that sheds any light on the nature of the payments made, or if the Debtor received reasonably equivalent value in exchange for the payments.”

The trustee — who has been working on the case for over a year — claims she is “beginning to unravel the numerous transactions which may be avoidable and recoverable for the benefit of creditors.”
The judge has yet to sign off on the trustee’s motion for American Express’ documents.
