'Fo Shizz': Britney Spears Reveals Ex Justin Timberlake 'Tried Too Hard' to Fit in With R&B Singer Ginuwine
Britney Spears claimed that her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake was desperately seeking approval from the hip-hop world in a newly revealed excerpt from her memoir chock-full of bombshells.
In an audiobook snippet narrated by actress Michelle Williams, the Oops!…I Did It Again singer noted that his chart-topping group, NSYNC, "hung out with Black artists," and were white boys who "loved hip-hop."
"To me, that's what separated them from the Backstreet Boys, who seemed very consciously to position themselves as a white group," she wrote in her memoir, The Woman in Me, before detailing a particular experience she had with Timberlake.
RadarOnline.com has learned she felt NSYNC tried "too hard to fit in" sometimes.
"One day, [Justin] and I were in New York, going to parts of town that I'd never been to before," the Princess of Pop penned in one chapter. "Walking our way was a guy wearing a huge blinged-out medallion. He was flanked by two giant security guards."
Spears said Timberlake was excited to see the Pony hitmaker and yelled out, "Oh yeah. Fo' siz. Fo' siz. Ginuwine, what's up homie?"
"After Ginuwine walked away Felicia [who they were with] did an impression … [Justin] wasn't even embarrassed. He just took it and looked at her like, OK, f--- you.'"
Spears wrote about that incident and more memories involving her famous ex, whom she dated from 1999 to 2002.

In another excerpt, the star detailed how she got an abortion because Timberlake wasn't ready for fatherhood, also claiming she "barely left the house" following the couple's split.
"When Justin began making his first solo album, Justified, he started being very standoffish with me," Spears recalled in her book released October 24. "I think that was because he decided to use me as ammunition for his record, and so it made it awkward for him to be around me, staring at him with all that affection and devotion."
"Ultimately, he ended our relationship by text message while I was on the set for the video for the Overprotected remix by Darkchild," she shared. "After seeing the message as I sat in my trailer between takes, I had to go back out and dance."
Spears said that she was "devastated" over their breakup and unable to speak about it for months without crying. Timberlake has not yet addressed the claims made in her memoir.
