Ashlee Simpson’s show has been canceled, months after RadarOnline.com revealed the E! series was on the chopping block.

“We are not doing that anymore,” Ashlee, 34, told Us Weekly about Ashlee + Evan. “We had so much fun doing it, but we’re both working on our own projects and we’re literally there with each other every day.”

In November 2018, an insider told RadarOnline.com that the show was causing tension between Ashlee and husband Evan Ross

“Ashlee and Evan got in a huge fight because he didn’t want to do the show in the first place and he is upset that now they look like failures,” revealed the source. “Ashlee assured Evan that the show would be a hit,” noted the source. “She told him that fans have been begging her to come back to TV.”

Readers know Ashlee starred in The Ashlee Simpson Show for two seasons from 2004 to 2005.

According to the source, she sold the idea of Ashlee + Evan so well that she even convinced Evan’s famous mom, Diana Ross, to star in it — but in the end, the ratings never hit the ceiling.

Ashlee told Us Weekly that part of their decision to end filming is because they “didn’t want to have our kids on TV for too long.”

Ashlee + Evan aired on E! from September to October 2018. For six episodes, the series focused on the lives of the star couple and their kids. RadarOnline.com readers know the two are parents to daughter Jagger, 4, while Ashlee is also a mom to son Bronx from her marriage to Pete Wentz.
