Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross hit a major bump in their marriage when their friends decided to crash their family vacation and the singer blamed it all on her hubby.
"I feel like we've been busy and our balance is off," Simpson said on the latest episode of Ashlee + Evan, explaining that she was having a tough time getting back to work and taking care of her family.
On the show, the couple set off to Palm Springs with their daughter Jagger, happy to finally get some peaceful family time.
"I really wish Bronx was there," he said about Simpson's son with Pete Wentz. "We need to get back to family, what we're making all this music about any way."
All was well in paradise until Ross thought it a good idea to invite all their friends to join them on the tropical vacation!
"I did not expect that," Simpson said to Ross when they all arrived.
"It is frustrating to me," she told him.
"You must've known our friends were coming," she said when Ross acted surprised at their pals' arrival.
"I didn't think they'd actually show up," he told her.
But in his confessional, Ross admitted he was the reason his friends showed up.
"I did not tell them that there was rooms all through the house. I didn't say there was, you know, all kinds of villas just on the property waiting for them to sleep in with good sheets and things… I didn't tell them any of that."
"I didn't throw it out there like that," he said with a smile. "I didn't say the pool was warm. I didn't!"
Simpson explained to her husband why she was so unhappy when their friends showed up for another party night at their house.
"There's always people over. It's like so loud last night. I couldn't sleep. You know what's important to me," she said. "You know getting into this and working again, it's important to me that we're with our kids, that we get the rest that we need. For me feeling like we have a balance is super important."
Simpson complained to her husband that their lives were not on track as they tried to work together the next day.
"Right now, I feel a little off balance," she said. "I feel like we can just be family and not have so many people around us."
Ross disagreed with her, which was frustrating.
"We're just not on the same page about that. It is what it is," Simpson said.
