Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle will defy tradition — yet again — by adding an African baby to their family, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
Palace sources revealed that the royal rebels hope to adopt a child as a sibling for their newborn son, Archie — and the extraordinary move may come sooner than anyone expects.
“Nothing has been set in stone yet, but this would be just the type of thing Harry and Meghan would do next,” confided an insider.
The couple has already sent a tsunami tearing through the palace by separating from the royal household and creating a rift with Prince William and Duchess Kate. An adoption would be a first for Britain’s royal family and is expected to spark new tension with Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
“Harry and Meghan are going to face a lot of opposition from the old guard, but they are stubborn!” the insider added.
The royal couple and Her Majesty is bundling them off to Africa to serve as Commonwealth Ambassadors.
“Both Harry and Meghan were deeply moved when they visited an orphanage there. They vowed to each other that they would go back and give one of those children a home,” according to the source.
Insiders said both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were motivated by their parents to make the unprecedented move — and despite the anticipated backlash, they’re committed to making this happen.
“Harry adopting a child from Africa would be the ultimate tribute he could pay to his mother, Princess Diana, who made it her mission to help kids in Angola,” spilled the insider. “And Meghan, who is of mixed race, feels it honors the heritage of her mother, Doria, who is black.”
