Piers Morgan has had enough of Amanda Knox!
The English journalist recently confronted the author for what he perceived to be the exploitation of the murder of her former friend and roommate, Meredith Kercher.
As RadarOnline.com reported, Knox returned to Italy and attended a criminal justice festival where she spoke on behalf of others who were wrongfully imprisoned.
During her speech on Saturday, Knox, 31, opened up about her fear of further harassment and accusations against her. She also touched on topics she's previously discussed including contemplating suicide.
Morgan, 54, however, was the least bit impressed, and took to Twitter to express his thoughts.
"Out of respect for Meredith Kercher's poor family, Amanda Knox should stop her self-pitying 'all about me' victim tour - and shut up," he tweeted.
Although she was not tagged in the tweet, the once wrongfully accused victim responded, "Says the guy who's begged me to be on his show multiple times, and I've turned him down every time."
Morgan then struck back saying, "I think we all know why you might wish to avoid interviews with British TV journalists, especially those like me who once worked with Meredith's father. Mine would start with this question: your lies sent an innocent man Patrick Lumumba to jail, so what else did you lie about?"
Kercher's family was also upset about Knox's resurgence in the media, which they described as being "very painful for the family." They considered her return to Italy "inappropriate."
As readers know, Kercher was brutally murdered and found in a pool of blood in a student house that she shared with Knox in Perugia in November 2007. She had been stabbed multiple times and her throat had been slashed.
She and then boyfriend Rafaelle Sollecito were initially found guilty of murder and sexual assault of Kercher in December 2009. Knox was sentenced to 26 years in prison and Sollecito got 25 years.
After eight years and three appeals, the convictions were overturned in 2011 and they were acquitted of all charges. The case was also closed.
In 2015, RadarOnline.com reported she sought compensation for her wrongful imprisonment, but it wasn't until earlier this year that she finally got some justice. The European Human Rights Court revealed it ordered Italy to pay her $20,000 in damages for the way her mistreatment during her roommate's murder trial.
Knox is now cashing out on her horrible experience as it has allowed her to write a book, land a gig as true crime podcast host, and share her story for $5,000 to $10,000 a speech.
