Briana Renee’s estranged husband Matt Grundhoffer was accused of sexual abuse against a minor patient, which allegedly happened before he appeared on Little Women: LA. As the case nears trial, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal the alleged victim had a major victory in court.
As RadarOnline.com broke, the alleged victim, who RadarOnline.com has chosen to protect the privacy of, sued State of Washington; Department of Social and Health Services; and Child Study and Treatment Center on June 4, 2018. Grundhoffer was not individually named as a defendant.
She claimed Grundhoffer engaged in a sexual relationship with her when she was a minor patient at the facility in 2009. He worked as a counselor at the time.
In the filing obtained from a State of Washington Superior Court, the alleged victim was granted her motion for partial summary judgment regarding violation of RCW Chapter 49.60, which is a law against discrimination. It is an exercise of police power of the state for the protection of public welfare, health and the peace of the people.
“The court, therefore, holds that: (1) The Child Study Treatment Center is a place of public accommodation as defined by the WLAD; (2) Defendants are strictly liable for any violation of the WLAD committed by their employee Matthew Grundhoffer regardless of notice and (3) If there was any conduct that would violate RCW Chapter 49.60 by Grundhoffer occurring while the Plaintiff was at the CSTC then this is a violation of the WLAD,” the court papers filed on Friday, May 3 read.
If it is found at trial that Grundhoffer did sexually abuse the Plaintiff, then the Defendants will be found responsible.
Renee has been listed as a witness, which means she “may be called to testify at trial.” She is to appear “by video deposition.”
Grundhoffer is also listed as a witness.
In Grundhoffer’s August 2018 deposition, he claimed he has not been in the Plaintiff’s presence since she left the Study Treatment Center as a minor. He claimed their sexual communications occurred after she left CSTC and that they never had a physical sexual relationship.
“It was long after I worked there,” he said of their sexual communications. “And to my knowledge, from what she told me, she was no longer a patient. She was an adult.”
Grundhoffer admitted to sending her “naked” photos through Facebook and possibly text.
A message from November 22, 2015 read, “You remember how hard you got me? Pre-c*m on my fingers and in your mouth.”
It was sent only months after he married Renee, 35, in April 2015. He admitted to writing the message.
Despite the message, Grundhoffer insisted “no physical encounters happened” and that it was all “fantasy.”
Mediation has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 8. If no agreement between the parties is made, trial has been scheduled for Monday, June 3.
Renee filed for divorce from Grundhoffer in November 2017 after he was involved in multiple sexting scandals.
She also filed a request for a domestic violence restraining order against him for her and their son Maverick in December 2017.
In the restraining order, which was granted for five years, she claimed she found graphic sexual messages between Grundhoffer and another woman that allegedly involved bestiality and the proposal of sex acts with minor children, including the proposal of involving sex acts with his minor child from a previous relationship.
