Formerly Sober Bruce Willis Splurges On Wine Cellar For Million-Dollar Collection

Bruce Willis and wife Emma Heming had one major demand before they splashed out $10 million on a new California home — a cellar big enough for their massive wine collection!
The Die Hard star, 64, and 40-year-old Emma plunked down cash on the seven-bedroom, 12-bathroom mansion in the upscale Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles after offloading their New York home.
“They have more than 1,500 bottles of vintage and rare wine, so a suitable cellar was at the top of the list — above a gym or swimming pool,” a source told RadarOnline.com.
“It’s absolutely majestic, a real pièce de résistance!” Continued the source. “It’s got a huge glass front and is next to their enormous dining room.”
Willis, the father of five children — three adult daughters with ex-wife Demi Moore and two little girls with Emma, who he wed in 2009 — was dry for more than two decades.
But last year he admitted to enjoying a “glass of wine with meals.”
“Before Bruce became an actor, he was a bartender,” noted a friend. “In the ’80s, Bruce and Demi were a Hollywood power couple known for their partying, but eventually it took its toll and Bruce decided to get sober in 1988.”

“And since that time, Demi and their three daughters have all battled addiction and are now in recovery,” added the source. “That’s why it seems odd to some people that Bruce would have such a huge wine collection.”
Though the action hero previously admitted he was drinking limited quantities of wine again, he swore he’s staying away from hard liquor.
“I realized I wasn’t gonna run myself off the pier of life with alcohol,” Willis revealed, because he’s not “drinking vodka out of the bottle every day.”
