90210’s Jason Priestley is the latest to pay tribute to Luke Perry after his sudden passing at 52.
Priestley, who played Brandon Walsh, a close friend to Perry’s character, Dylan McKay, took to Instagram to express his thoughts on the loss of his longtime friend.
In a post that displayed two pictures of the duo, he wrote, “My dear friend of 29 years, Luke Perry, was one of those truly special people who really cared. Luke was not only a star, he was an incredibly bright light that was extinguished far too soon... and that is why I, and so many others, are in so much pain today.”
Perry passed in front of loved ones on March 4th after suffering from a severe stroke just five days earlier.
As RadarOnline.com reported, he was originally expected to make it, but his health began to deteriorate.
Readers know Priestley, 49, is not the first person to who express their sentiments on the death of Perry. In his message to his father, Perry’s son 21 year old son Jack wrote, “I’ll miss you every day that I walk this earth. I’ll do whatever I can to carry on your legacy and make you proud.”
His daughter Sophie, 18, also articulated her thoughts on social media.
“I’m not really sure what to say or do in this situation, it’s something you aren’t ever given a lesson on how to handle, especially when it’s all happening in the public eye,” Sophie wrote. “So bare with me and know that I am grateful for all the love. Just, being grateful quietly.”
90210 Costar Shannen Doherty admitted in her tribute that she was struggling with the loss and “having a hard time with her thoughts.” Processing the news, she said, “is impossible right now.”

The executive producers of Riverdale, his most recent gig, also shared a statement.
“Luke was everything you could hope he would be: an incredibly caring, consummate professional with a giant heart, and a true friend to all,” they wrote.
“A father figure and mentor to the show’s young cast, Luke was incredibly generous, and he infused the set with love and kindness. Our thoughts are with Luke’s family during this most difficult time.”
Perry leaves behind his ex-wife Rachel “Minnie” Sharp, 49, and Jack and daughter Sophie, both of whom he left his fortune.
