Katy Perry has made a name for herself as one of Hollywood's most stylish A-listers, but her latest trend garnered more anger than praise.

A pair of shoes recently revealed by the "I Kissed A Girl" singer's fashion line features a face with red lips and blue eyes on top of black leather.

Twitter users soon slammed the footwear as "ignorant" and "ugly."

It didn't take long for Perry, 34, to address the scandal, telling BBC in a statement: "I was saddened when it was brought to my attention that it was being compared to painful images reminiscent of blackface. Our intention was never to inflict any pain. We have immediately removed them."

The chaos came hours after Perry was blasted for allegedly trying to upstage Dolly Parton in her bizarre 2019 Grammy Awards tribute.

"Katy tried to make it her own. It was Dolly's night to shine, and Katy should have respected that," a backstage production insider exclusively told RadarOnline.com. "Katy said she was just trying to stand out, and she didn't want to be just another background singer for Dolly. But that is what she was there to do!"

Perry's blackface drama also came days after fans called for The View cohost Joy Behar to be fired over a blackface photo scandal.
