Just hours after Hollywood legend Clark Gable’s grandson was found dead at 30, RadarOnline.com spoke exclusively to his ex-girlfriend, Heather Chadwell, who revealed Clark Gable III had lived through a battle of addiction and a horrific stabbing prior to his death!

As readers know, the Cheaters host's body was discovered Friday Feb. 22

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the tragic death exclusively to Radar.

“Clark had a heart of gold and I am just so shaken right now,” Heather said.

Despite his "heart of gold," she described their tumultuous relationship and his struggle with demons. “We were together on-and-off for several years and during that time we went through a lot. Clark would disappear for days on end," she said. "With the disappearing and not knowing what he was doing took a toll on our relationship.”

"We were battling our own addiction issues and it was too much.”

But it wasn’t only addiction that caused the silver screen actor’s grandson great pain.

According to Heather, shortly after they separated, she received a call from the hospital that Clark had been stabbed in the lung.

“It was terrifying," she said.

Trouble didn't stop there for the host. "His lung got infected and collapsed," Heather revealed exclusively to Radar. "He had a surgery at the time and it was just so hard on him and It was hard to watch him suffer.”

Aside from his father, Clark II and heartbroken mother Tracy Scheff, Clark Gable III is survived by girlfriend Summer and their daughter Shore LaRea Gable, 2.
