The sci-fi Church of Scientology has targeted a high-profile new member — songbird Taylor Swift!
“The church would be thrilled to have someone like Taylor with her massive fan base to attract new, younger members,” an insider told RadarOnline.com.
The “Bad Blood” singer, 29, recently recorded a video message for one of the church’s most prominent celebrity members — actress Elisabeth Moss of TV’s Mad Men and The Handmaid’s Tale.
“Taylor was responding to an interview Elisabeth had given where she said that she listens to Taylor’s music in her dressing room,” a source said.
“When she viewed the video, Elisabeth’s face lit up like a Christmas tree and she sent a message to Taylor saying, ‘Taylor, I’m free to hang out anytime!’”
Celebrity Scientologists are often used to lure other stars into the church, according to experts on the religion.
The church has also erected special, plush Celebrity Centres where stars and other celebs are invited to mingle and be indoctrinated into the religion.
“Now that Elisabeth has made a connection with Taylor, it will be her job to get Taylor to trust her and slowly sell her on the benefits of Scientology,” said the source.

“But even if she doesn’t, Elisabeth has already scored a win by having Taylor buddy up to a Scientologist. The church loves that kind of positive press!”
