"The cause of death is a gunshot wound of head. The manner of death was certified as a suicide," Sarah Ardalani of the Los Angeles Medical Examiner's Office told Radar.
Police also revealed new details to Radar about the music manager's final moments.
Beverly Hills Police told Radar exclusively that first responders "attempted life-saving measures" on Rasten before rushing him from home to the hospital on Monday, February 18.
"We transported the victim to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center," a spokesperson for the BHPD told Radar. "Shortly after 1:00 p.m., the male succumbed to his injuries."
Charo's wife recently broke her silence on her beloved husband's suicide, claiming he took his own life after a battle with depression and an excruciating skin disease.
"That, along with the many medications he needed to take, became too much for him, and he ended his suffering,” Charo wrote in a statement obtained by Radar.
According to reports, the Spanish singer, 68, was at the couple's home when he took his own life.
Charo and Rasten married in 1978, and share an adult son, Shel.
